Wings Arrival… <back>

   My wings finally arrived. It’s been several months since they were ordered and paid for. As you can see in the pictures my shop isn’t ready for them. We’ve had a death in the family and family obligations come first so the shop got pushed behind again. It will another two weeks before I have time off to hopefully complete the walls and ceiling.

 

   I was not impressed with markings on the box. I figured Van’s would have their act together by now about professional shipping procedures, or perhaps I am spoiled working for Quad Graphics. We do a lot of shipping, and they, and I, have learned first impressions by the customer are paramount. I have more than a few people interested in building as well, so they are watching every detail and making assessments of the company by what they see. So far all I get are eye rolling…. The back of the larger crate is busted. The best I could tell from the outside, it appears that no damage penetrated the outside to make it inside, but I had damage on the last item I received from a freight shipment. I had the driver see the damage and told them it would be a few weeks before I could open the crates. We’ll see…..
